We make all Hortons log cabins from slow grown spruce timber. Double glazed windows and doors are standard for all Hortons Log Cabins of wall thickness 35mm and above. 28mm Log cabins come with single glazing as standard (

Hortons cabin doors come with special security hinges which are also adjustable. It is not possible to unscrew our log cabin doors from their frame to gain access - we use special security hinges which are also fully adjustable. We can add extra doors and windows to any Hortons Log Cabin, call us for details & quotes. Minimum purlin size for Hortons log cabins is 70x140mm and no greater than 600mm apart for a very strong roof
This 5m x 3m pent garden cabin provides an excellent outside space whilst being within general planning and building regulations rules. No special permissions are required wherever you want to position it within your garden. It measures 2.5m at the front and 2.1m at the rear. But we can increase the rear wall height to give maximum headroom throughout the cabin. This is still enough to throw the rain off, but we highly recommend using EPDM rubber roofing on shallow pitch pent roofs. This is because there are no joins which is nearly always where roofing eventually does leak. EPDM is one big rubber sheet. The 1m deep front roof canopy provides both shade during the summer and shelter from the rain.
What makes a warm garden room?
We offer many different options for wall thicknesses and specifications. This model starts off with 28mm single skin wall logs, which is perfectly useful as a summerhouse or store room (optional upgrade available to double glazing). If you add our insulated roof and floor kit, it makes it much more useable. It's warm enough to use in Spring and Autumn with minimal heat required. Then stepping up through the wall thicknesses to 70mm single skin. This is obviously a very substantial strong log cabin and obviously that much warmer than a 28mm wall. However, Twin Skin cabins are about 3 times warmer than an equivalent amount of timber to use a thick single skinned cabin due to it's cavity walls. We can make cabins to comply with Building Regulations for habitation! Simply put, Twin skin cabins can be as warm as a new-build house!
